Surface water and groundwater in the piedmont area of Golmud River, which are in closecontact, interdependence and mutual transformation, constitutes a typical inland basin river-aquifer system in Northwest. In front of Golmud alluvial fan compose of thick deposition layerof Quaternary loose sandy gravels, a large burial phreatic aquifer with abundant groundwaterrecharge, large storage capacity, shallow buried, water-rich and good water quality, is suitablefor large-scale centralized exploitation. In Golmud River basin, average annual surface water resources is9.42×10~8m~3, roundwaterresource is6.35×10~8m~3, repeated resources amount of5.91×10~8m~3, and the total quantity ofwater resources in the region is9.86×10~8m~3. Application of mathematical models in randomsequence hydrological forecasting results showed that: the recent (2020) total recharge ofgroundwater resources is6.38×10~8m~3/a (174.72×104m3/d), the amount of exploitablegroundwater resources is1.46×10~8m~3/a (40×104m3/d), the utilization rate is only22.9%, thereis still a great potential for exploitation; total surface water resources forward (2030) was9.36×10~8m~3/a, the total amount of groundwater resources is6.65×10~8m~3/a (181.54×104m3/d),deduct the repeated resources, the total quantity of water in the basin is9.82×10~8m~3/a, not lessthan75×104m3/d can be exploited after evaluation.Based on the simulation of random sequence hydrological forecasting, under the conditionof planning to exploit groundwater resources in75×104m3/d, the overflow water of springs setwill reduce19.032×104m3/d, the area of swamp wetland will reduce, the evaporation ofGolmud River Basin will20.371×104m3/d. But it will not cause hydrogeological environmentalproblems, such as ground subsidence, collapse, and the ecological impacts on vegetation indownstream are in a controllable range.
