Papaveraceae are widely distributed, mainly in the temperate andsubtropical regions of the world,most of the species are herbaceous,there is also afew shrub. About700species in38genera were found in the whole world,mainly inthe north temperate zone,especially in the Mediterranean region,West Asia,CentralAsia and the southwestern North America. There are18genera and362species inChina,distributed from north to south,but most concentrated in the southwest. TheEomecon (Eomecon Hance) is a single species endemic to China;more species ofCorydalis (Coydalis DC) and Meconopsis (Meconopsis Vig) distribution center insouthwestern China;Some single species or oligotypic genera,such as Hylomecongenus (Hylomecon Maxim),Chelidonium (Chelidonium L),Macleaya (Macleaya R.Br),and Hypecoum (Hypecoum L),are widely distributed in China.In this article,the epidermal morphology of Papaveraceae25taxa in Henan wasobserved by SEM. It discovered that the leaf epidermal cuticle of Henan Papaveraceaeplants is mostly thin,in SEM it can clearly distinguish epidermal cell structure,thereare5species of Papaveraceae stomata are present in lower epidermis,the remainingspecies appeared only on the lower epidermis,stomata arranged all species areirregular in shape. The cuticular ornamentation can be divided into two types nodecorations and granular protrusions. Among them,most have striped grain,only afew no decorations. Interspecific differences on stomatal apparatus size and density islarger.The pollen from13kinds of Papaveraceae plant samples in Henan province wereobserved by SEM,it found that Henan Papaveraceae appearance is spherical,nearlyspherical,long spherical or flat spheroid,2-6crack of circular or nearly circular inpolar view and its surface has mostly3-colporate aperture,4-colporate,5-colporate,6-colporate as well. Surface ornamentation is significant mesh,granular,etc. Thereare some differences between the pollen morphological characteristics in species ofthe Henan papaveraceae plant.By using the methods of documentary and field study,there are a total of35species in this article from the statistical distribution of Papaveraceae species inHenan province,The4of them are new records,respectively is the Jiaozhou Corydalis yanhusuo (C.kiautschouensis),leaf (C. repen),Sichuan yellow pansy (C.wilsonii), small medicine eight Dan Zi (C. caudate), Henan DicranostigmaLeptopodum (D. henanensis).Through the literature,the geographical distribution ofHenan Papaveraceae characteristics and the comparison with the national variousprovinces were discussed. Henan Papaveraceae plant species is relatively rich,thefour mountains ranges in the province have distribution. Funiu mountain has the mostdistribution of Papaveraceae plant species,21species,the other three mountains haveless distribution. The most abundant species distribution of Papaveraceae in China aremainly in the areas of Southwest China’s sichuan province. The species richness islowest in hainan,only1species are distributed in these region. Chinese endemicdistribution of Papaveraceae plant species,with xizang as the center,is distributed insichuan、yunnan and xinjiang area,it is obviously different from Chinese plant speciesrichness distribution. The geographical location of the neighboring provinces hasmuch higher similarity coefficient with henan province. The elevation of500~2500m area is the vertical distribution center of Henan Papaveraceae plants.
