In order to solve the current energy crisis and environmental problems brought bythe burning of fossil fuels, it is necessary to find renewable and environment-friendlyalternative energy soures. Microalgae are likely to solve this problem, by using microalgae produced biodiesel has been paid more and more attention. Under outdoorconditions, Chlorococcum pamirum was studied in the following aspects: Therelationship of CO2concentration and growth of Chlorococcum pamirum undercomplete BG-11medium and nitrogen deficiency BG-11medium;The effect ofdifferent initial density and thickness of the reactor on Chlorococcum pamirum growth; The changes of physiological and biochemical of Chlorococcum pamirumunder large-scale culture. Results are summarized as fllowing:(1)Uunder the condition of the complete and nitrogen deficiency medium, thehigher CO2concentration, the more fixed C quality, and the ratio of C Fixed quality andgrowth of biomass was1:3; The higher the CO2concentration, the faster growth rate wasobtained; under the condition of the complete and nitrogen deficiency medium, thehigher the CO2concentration, the higher content of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll a contentwould decline under the condition of nitrogen deficiency, and the higher CO2concentration, the lower the chlorophyll a content was obtain; under the condition of thecomplete and nitrogen deficiency medium, the higher the CO2concentration,the highervalue of Pm, and nitrogen deficiency resulted in lower value of Ik, but CO2concentration had no significant effect on Ik value; Under the condition of nitrogendeficiency Chlorococcum pamirum fat content and maximum oil production rate were61.4%and37.45mgL-1d-1.(2)Chlorococcum pamirum can quickly adapt to the outdoor conditions, differentthickness of bioreactor and initial density has significant impact on the growth ofChlorococcum pamirum: under the condition of appropriate temperature and lightintensity, the thinner the thickness of reactor and the higher the initial density, the fastergrowth rate would be obtained. Thickness in1cm, initial density (OD550) of1.5, theaverage growth rate is highest, reached to69mgL-1d-1, but in the actual productionneeds to consider the land utilization and weather conditions, to adjust the thickness andinitial density of the reactor.(3)The thinner the thickness of reactor, the higher value of Pm.In10cm reactor,Chlorococcum pamirum had maximum Pm under initial density of0.4. When the initialdensity between2.0and0.4, Pm values increase with the decrease of the initial density, the initial density as low as0.1, Pm value decreases, and unit mass content ofchlorophyll a had same changes with Pm. Within three days, NO3-and PO43-clearancerate were as high as98%, showed the potential in terms of sewage treatment. C18wasmain components of total fatty acid, as high as80%, showed great potential in theproduction of high quality biodiesel. The results show that Chlorococcum pamirum has great potential in the productionof biodiesel, high clearance rate of nitrogen and phosphorus and high absorption rate forCO2shows its potential in terms of sewage disposal and CO2emission reduction.
