In order to aggregate linguistic information, many approaches have been proposed up to now. The approximate model based on extension principle; The method based on symbols, which makes computations on the indexes of the linguistic terms; The fuzzy linguistic representation model, which represents the linguistic information with a pair of values called2-tuple, composed by a linguistic term and a number; The direct approach to decision making with linguistic preference relations. The first three of the above methods, however, will be unsuitable for dealing with bipolar scales problems, and the operational of the fourthly method’s operator may have some blemishes. To overcome these issues, some new operational laws of linguistic variables and uncertain variables are defined. To do so, some new linguistic aggregation operators are developed by extending the ordered weighted averaging (OWA) operator or simple additive weighting (SAW) operator to the linguistic environment, and two methods of decision making under linguistic environment are proposed.This thesis, the primary research contents and results are listed as follows:1. Some new operational laws of linguistic variables and uncertain variables are defined, and some desirable properties of the operational laws are studied. 2. Based on the new operational laws, linguistic simple additive weighting (LSAW) operator is proposed and the OWA operator is developed to the induced uncertain linguistic ordered weighted averaging (IULOWAf) operator and the uncertain linguistic weighted averaging (ULWAf) operator is introduced.3. Some desirable properties of the LSAW and IULOWAf operators are investigated, and two model of decision making are given as follows:(1) A new approach to MADM with linguistic information is generated based on the LSAW operator.(2) A practical group decision making methodology for an uncertain linguistic environment is proposed based on the ULWAf and the IULOWAf operator.
