Forests are very important natural resources, and have an important significancefor the development of human society. Forest fire is a disaster for forest resources. Inrecent years, due to the frequent increase in human activities, the damage to forest isparticularly serious, and exacerbated by the possibility of forest fires. So how toprevent forest fires and to control the spread of fire in a timely manner, to grasp thesituation of fire around, take effective measures to fight the blaze, and to minimize theloss of forest fires, is the focus of the work of the forest fire today.Firstly this article introduces the research background and current situation offorest fire prevention at home and abroad, and it describes the technologiesachievement of the system and related components simply. Then the article describessystem needs analysis and overall design of the system. Finally the article introducesthe detailed design, the selection of the model and the system functional modulesbased on the needs analysis. The system of developed environment is Visual Studio2005, SQL Server2005for database management, ArcGIS Engine as a secondarydevelopment of plug-ins, DotNetBar as skin control, Skyline as a three-dimensionaldevelopment of software. According to requirements analysis, the system frameworkis based on the plug-in technology, reflects the easy maintenance, good transplantupdating convenient. The system achieves the basic functions of GIS, such as mapbrowsing, free zooming, map query, layer control, eagle eye, cartography, shortestpath analysis, and some forest fire functional modules such as fire point automaticpositioning, disaster loss evaluation analysis, fire spread simulation analysisthree-dimensional map browsing display. The contents of this study is a new exploration of forest fire. The system is a freshattempt by the combination of automatic monitoring and information system for forestfire prevention work. The system is more meaningful for the forest fire preventionwork.
