Study Of Color Differentiation And Factors Affecting In Ventral Scales Of Male Lacerta Vivipara

The experimental males Lacerta vivipara were collected from Laodaodian Village, Sanka Township, Huma County, Heilongjiang Province from May to June in2011and2012.Lacerta vivipara ventral scales color has differentiation, males display three colors: orange, yellow and white. Among them, the adults ventral display orange-red, orange and yellow; Females also display three colors:pale orange, pale yellow and white. According to the animal body surface and muscle pigment type, we infer that Lacerta vivipara ventral scales color differentiation is caused by the different content of carotenoids.Light intensity has a certain relationship with the content, composition and the presence state of carotenoids. Generate more carotenoids in light intensity2001x and carotenoids content tends to decrease with a increasing light intensity. At the same time, temperature also has some influence on the content of carotenoids, it shows a tendency to increase with the increasing temperature in the range of experimental temperature (24℃to30℃).In this study, male Lacerta vivipara adults ventral scales were photoed and grouped, compared with different colors of the ventral scales. Set three different conditions:low temperature group, no light group and laboratory group to study the effect of temperature and light on the color of ventral scales.The main results of this article are as followed:1、Color differentiation in ventral scales of male Lacerta vivipara adultsThere has color differentiation in ventral scales of male Lacerta vivipara adults: orange-red, orange and yellow, the proportion is9%,55%,36%. Orange-reds are higher than oranges and yellows in head length, head width, snout-vent length and adbomen length.2、The effect of temperature and light on ventral scales color of male Lacerta viviparaTemperature has less effcted on ventral scales color of male Lacerta vivipara, under the normal temperature condition in the laborory, none of the12male Lacerta vivipara ventral scales color were changed; But under low temperature conditions, among the12male Lacerta vivipara,4ventral scales came darken, including2red-orange and2yellow,8ventral scales did not change color, including6orange and2yellow.No light has a greater impact on male Lacerta vivipara ventral scales color, among the12male Lacerta vivipara, except for2dead(include1orange and1yellow), the remaining10all came darken.Under laboratory conditions, three kinds of ventral scales color male Lacerta vivipara weight did not change significantly, but under low or no light conditions, three kinds of ventral scales color male Lacerta vivipara weight decreased significantly.It can be seen that light was the main factor on male Lacerta vivipara ventral scales color.
