Accelerator alignment is a necessary and key technology and work inparticle accelerators engineering. Its main job is to solve the precision andcomplex accelerator components according to the design position, andaccurate positioning in larger space. The main purpose is to reduce theinfluence of the alignment error to the quality and life of the magnets andother key equipment, to survey and to adjust the position of the acceleratorelement after the operation.Firstly, the characteristics and the main content of the acceleratoralignment engineering and the present development situation in acceleratoralignment engineering at home and abroad are introduced. Then according tothe modern accelerators alignment techniques, to research the acceleratoralignment techniques depend on Hefei light source upgrade project. Focus onanalyzing the height measurement method in the accelerator alignment, how toset up and test the elevation control network, the factors of affecting theaccuracy of height measurement and all kinds of improvement measures arediscussed.In this paper, our research work is based on the upgrading project of theHefei light source. Depend on accelerator physics alignment tolerancerequirements, the elevation control network of the Hefei light sourceupgrading project is studied and discussed. The results are used in Hefei lightsource upgrading project, and the technical support for Hefei light sourceaccelerator installation is provided.In this paper, the accelerator alignment has the following several aspectsof research and achievements:1. The study of how to set up the elevation control network. Because theabsolute accuracy of the accelerator physics element is lower than the relativeaccuracy requirements, we must take this factor into consideration in smallscale measurements of the large space. According to the actual situation onsite and the tolerance requirements of installation, we can put forward the reasonable project of elevation control network.2. Researching the method of elevation measurement and accuracyassessment. Based on researching and discussing the principle of the totalstation triangle elevation surveying, the height measurement depend on Lasertracker, precise leveling, their advantages and disadvantages are compared;The measuring accuracy of laser tracker in the vertical direction is studied,and a comparison with the precision level is made.3. In this paper, discussing the accelerator installation process of theHefei light source upgrading project, and illustrating how to control the heightdirection in the installation stage. The principle of the hydrostatic levelingsystem is analyzed, and the hydrostatic leveling system in Hefei light resourceis introduced. Our hydrostatic leveling system of independent development isused in monitoring.In the process of designing and surveying the elevation control networkin Hefei light source upgrading project, the alignment technology throughoutin it. The design of the scheme refers to the experience of the acceleratoralignment at home and abroad. In the process of implementation, correctingand improving the specific methods in combination with the practical situationof the scene of the work and research results and reference to the experienceof other accelerator alignment. Finally, my work provides the necessaryguarantee for going on wheels of the Hefei light source upgrading project.
