Jinjiang is developing with an amazing speed in recent years. But the rapid industrialization has created major environmental problems including serious air pollution and water pollution caused by the unfriendly way of development at the same time. Urban forest land is one of the most important components of urban Social-Economic-Natural Complex Ecosystem, it can provide various important ecosystem services for urban areas. This paper, from the perspective of urban forests, based on the content, theory, method of landscape, takes Jinjiang as example to study the characteristics and the value of ecosystem services of urban forests, in order to offer scientific theory evidences for the future construction and protection of urban forests in Jinjiang.This paper is based on the SPOT images as information source, and using ArcGIS, GoogleEarth and other related software to extract and classify the urban forests landscape. On this basis, a data base of urban forests have set up. Then by using the Fragstats, Excel and some other software, it calculated and analyzed the landscape of urban forests in Jinjiang. In addition, this paper also set up a revised estimate model of the value of ecosystem services. By using this estimate model, the result of the value of ecosystem services is calculated.The results showed that Jinjiang urban forest patches have these following main characteristics:firstly, large distribution but small concentration, the number of urban forest patches increased, the mean area of urban forest patches decreased, fragmentation level of urban forest patches was high.From a functionality perspective, shelter forests take the largest proportion, for its area is the largest and the widest distribution. From the point of types of crown density, the medium crown density urban forests is the biggest part. This article also fixed a estimation model of ecological service value. By using this method, the value of ecological service of the researched region.This article suggests that urban forests should be set at "key place" of ecological system, for it will help protect the environment of the city tremendously. At last, based on the comprehensive analysis and comparison urban forests suggestions of protection and the construction of jinjiang city.At last, the comprehensive analysis and comparison, forest protection and the construction of Jinjiang city were proposed.
