Pugionium Is a very important shrub species for sand vegetableinhabilitation in Inner Mongolia of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region China for its highecological andeconomic values. Pugionium cornutum and Pugionium dolabrotum is its two species. They grew up in arid region. So soil moisture content on the mustard Puionium Gaertn settled in the sand and adaptation is very important based on the soil moisture content of Puionium Gaertn settled influence study plants.(1) Puionium plants root elongation rate is greater than the sand bed formation rate, therefore, the local distribution of the roots of the plant should have corresponding morphological plasticity Puionium growth and biomass investment young Puionium plants response to different soil moisture content and simulated rainfall and mobile dune growing season with the fluctuation rules of soil moisture content in the early of growing season, Puionium plants seedlings are more likely to settle in sand dunes if there is no sufficient follow-up rain, after the germination of seedlings on the top of the sand dunes leeward slope middle and lower part settled more difficult.(2)The experimental results showed that seed of P.cornutum and P.dolabrotum could germinate in2%~20%the soil water content, suitable soil water content was6%~12%, the soil water content, suitable soil water content was6~8%, Seed of P.cornutum and P.dolabrotum could emerge in2%~20%the siol water content, suitable soil moisture of P.cornutum and P.dolabrotum emergence were6%~8%;P.cornutum and P.dolabrotum seedlings biomass at6%~8%and8%soil water content were significantly higher than that of other treatments, and ratio of root to shoot of P.cornutum and P.dolabrotum reached maximum at2%and8%the soil water content, Soil water content of above the2%, both P.cornutum and P.dolabrotum can be germinate and unearth. The P.cornutum’s germinate rate and emergence rate slightly higher than P.dolabrotum. The results showed that Pugionoum plants have strong adaptability to the sandy environment, but adaptability of P.cornutum was stronger than P.dolabrotum.(3) Different leaf age Pugionium cornutum and Pugionium dolabrotum seedlings natural saturation deficit and critical saturation deficit of difference is large for increased with leaf number, for the same leaf number Pugionium cornutum and Pugionium dolabrotum comparison of Pugionium dolabrotum’s high; Different leaf age Pugionium cornutum and Pugionium dolabrotum seedlings, water potential changes have presented single-peak curve, determine Pugionium cornutum water and steam.
