With the development of GIS theory and the expansion of application fields, theresearch of oil pipelines management mode based on GIS gradually become a hot researchin the field of oil pipelines visual management. Most of the existing oil pipelinesmanagement styles based on GIS are exclusive management system, not relying onmanagement model, and lack of versatility. In addition, the pipelines data modelgranularity divided too rough, the constraint relations are incomplete among devices, andcan not meet the management requirements in visually spatial analysis in B/S mode. Aimto build a oil pipelines management model based on WebGIS with reasonable granularitydivision and comprehensive constraint rules and functions, this paper makes discussionand research on the design and implementation of the management model.Firstly, simplify and abstract the oil pipelines network business model, extract thecore process equipment and auxiliary equipment, and then propose a formal definitionusing tuple. Construct a oil pipelines logical data model based on UML according to thisdefinition and refine the data granularity. Through model transformation, we gain aphysical data model of the oil pipelines based on Geodatabase. On this basis, design thehierarchical structure of the management model, propose the internal module, functionalprinciples and interaction of data layer, service layer and interaction layer, and get adetailed framework of the management model eventually.Secondly, propose a mapping technology framework from management model toprototype system, analyse the technical principles and route of model layers mapping.Inthe data layer, present the organizational structure and management strategy of the spatialdata and attribute data of oil pipelines based on relational database, Geodatabse the spatialdatabase engine. In the service layer, enrich the constraint rules library of properties,behavior and relationships, propose the construction and call methods of oil pipelinesvector and spatial services based on ArcGIS. In the interaction layer, propose theorganization of the functional modules and the methods of calling data managementservices and analysis services in web side. Through hierarchical mapping to achieve the overall mapping from management model to prototype system.Finally, we design and implement a oil pipelines management system based on themanagement model proposed in this paper. The system is set in the oil pipelinesmanagement needs of Qinhuangdao Oil Port Company, implemented by using Flex Viewer,DotNET and SQL Server on ArcGIS platform. We assemble the data structure, pipelinesmap, business logic, functional unit and system interface according to the managementmodel level architecture and modules, realize the mapping from the management model tothe management system. Experiments show that the management model proposed in thispaper has the versatility, accuracy and practical value.
