Harmonious corporate culture is an important guarantee for today’s enterprises to maintain healthy and stable development; meanwhile, it has become one of the most enduring core competitiveness of modern enterprises. Harmonious corporate culture has been paid more and more attention for academia. However, with the development of society and the aggravation of competition, the staffs, as a company’s most important resource, are confronting the increasingly severe job stress problem. How to ease staffs stress from the cultural psychology level, how to create a corporate culture which can make employees keep in the best state, how to let the employees be in a harmonious organizational atmosphere to work in the health, joy and effectiveness, has become an urgent and arduous task for enterprise managers to resolve.Based on the review of the previous theory literatures, this study establishes a conceptual model and puts forward hypotheses between harmonious corporate culture and four job-stress-related variables (i.e., occupational stressor, job performance, job satisfaction and physical symptom) to explore the relations of harmonious corporate culture on the occupational stressor and employee’s physical, psychological and behavioral stress responses. This research passed by two empirical study stages:the first stage adopted stratified random sampling method to collect the survey data of many enterprises in Jiangsu Province, then use multivariate statistical analysis software SPSS 13.0 to test the reliability and validity of harmonious corporate culture 15-dimensions-model Scale by exploratory factor analysis, thus form the initial measurement model of harmonious corporate culture variable. The second stage chose Z company, the largest foreign-funded enterprise in Zhenjiang, as the object, using structural equation modeling analysis software LISREL8.70, firstly do confirmatory factor analysis on harmonious corporate culture, occupational stressor and job performance of three variables multidimensional measurement model to ensure the validity and reliability of inventory data; then analysis the overall structure model of harmonious corporate culture and job stress, test model fitting and assumptions to modify it; Finally, discuss the impact effects among each variable in the revised model, in order to provide guidance suggestions and solutions on pressure management for the enterprises in the perspective of harmonious corporate culture.Through above two stages of the research, this paper draws the following conclusions: 1) The content of harmonious corporate culture can be divided into six dimensions, that is, "People-Oriented Values", "Scientific and Sound Development", "United and Fraternal Collaboration", "Fair and Democratic Participation", "Honest and Green Responsibility", "Compatible and Shared Integration", the first four dimensions reflect an enterprise internal harmony, the latter two dimensions reflect external harmony.2) Harmonious corporate culture has a significant negative effect on occupational stressor, the effect value is-0.3, so harmonious corporate culture can ease work stress in the fundamental degree by reducing pressure sources.3) Harmonious corporate culture has a significant positive effect on job performance, its direct effect value is 0.35, and indirect effect value is 0.14, so harmonious corporate culture can enhance staffs performance level in a large extent; meanwhile, in the process of building harmonious corporate culture, employees’performance also can be indirectly improved through reducing work stress and increasing job satisfaction.4) Harmonious corporate culture has a significant positive effect on job satisfaction, its direct effect value is 0.47, indirect effect value is 0.02, and so harmonious corporate culture let employees maintain a positive attitude to gain the psychological satisfaction.5) Harmonious corporate culture has a significant negative impact on employee’s physiological responses (i.e., physical symptom), its direct effect value is-0.09, indirect effect value is-0.29, so harmonious corporate culture can help alleviate adverse physical symptoms resulted from occupational stressors, thus play an active role in protecting the health of employees.
