In today’s time,with the rapid development of economy, especially industrialdeepening of the developing countries, the demand for energy is very rapidly, while coalresources has formed a relatively complete industrial system after decades, with China’scoal reserves are higher in the world; however, the coal resource in our country has manyproblems in the process of development and utilization: the utilization rate is low;resource recovery rate is low; small coal mine flooding, deforestation is very serious,accident rate is increasing year by year; output high is only important for them, ignoringthe harm to ecological environment. Coal as China Resources "key" position can not bechanged for a long period of time, so for the sustainable development of coal resourcesexploration is very urgently, It is expounded of the four aspects,there are economic,technology, ecological environment, science and technology, but also on the sustainabledevelopment of coal resources meaning, and then analyzes the sustainable developmentsystem of coal resources from four aspects, including resources, economy, society,environment. On this basis, establishing the evaluation system of coal resources in Shanxiprovince model, using principal component analysis to make comprehensive scoreanalysis on the recent years Shanxi province coal resources sustainable developmentlevel, the conclusion is: as a coal-producing of Shanxi Province which has been in theresearch for sustainable development of coal, but coal resources has been focused on theeconomic benefits, in the meantime,it is ignoring the effects of coal resources on theenvironment in the development process, so in the future increasing the protection of coalresources on the ecological environment in the development process is very important.
