Research On Forestry Competitiveness Cultivation Of Gansu Province

With the acceleration of economic globalization and marketintegration, the competition between industries began to intensify andchanged the competitive landscape. The competitiveness of regionalindustries play an important impact on the economic development ofprovinces. Forestry industry as an important part of economy, includingfirst, second and third industries, it have some feature of a variety ofproducts, a wide range of industrial, increasing farmers’income andpromoting economic development. However, the development of forestryin china is facing a severe test and new opportunities. Landlocked GansuProvince is located in the geographic center of the motherland, a vastterritory, relatively fragile ecological environment and the lower level ofmodernization so that forestry competitiveness on the national ranking.The face of increasingly fierce competion, Gansu Province should be relyon the regional advanges to change the industrial structure of thetraditional fundamentally, achieve rationalization of forestry organizationand enthance the competitiveness of the province’s forestry.In paper, I summarized the connotation of the competitiveness ofthe regional forestry based on the review of the state of the domestic andforeign research, which is essentially an integrated capability from thecharacteristics of forestry, natural endowments as the basis, achievingthe optimal allocation of resources and the industry by raising the level of technology and reasonable division of labor, and constantly improvethe value-added forest products in order to increase the economicstrength of the regional forestry and transform for the advantage of theregional development of forestry industry in the areacompetitiveness.The strength of the competitiveness of the regional forestry result of thecombinde effects by infrastructure,natural resources, funds, instituionalinnovation, market demand, business environment, government policiesand human capital.On the basis of comprehensive research of domestic and foreignexperts and scholars, regional forestry competitiveness is divided into fiveparts, including forestry resources, forestry ecological, forestry productioncapacity, forestry capital construction, forestry development support, andbuild an index system of forest area, output value of forestry, afforestationarea, forestry utilization of foreign capital, wetland and so on. I evaluate ofthe Gansu forestry competitiveness in2005and2010using of principalcomponent analysis, and come to the plight of the Gansu provincial forestrycompetitiveness: Firstly, the industrial structure is irrational and lock ofstamina forestry development. Secondly, it is lack of investment in humancapital and forestry technological backwardness. Thirdly, it is difficult toachieve cluster development because of lack of a leading enterprise withcore competitiveness. Fourthly, it is restricted the development of theforestry industry owing to lack of a policy of financial support. At last, I make some specific suggestions on the cultivation of Gansu provinceforestry based on clear nurture dilemma.
