Today, with the more and more economic globalization and international exchanges, exhibition activity, as an important means to promote the economic exchanges and international trading, has attracted extensive attention from all over the world. As a sunrise industry in the21st Century, exhibition industry has become an important part of the tertiary industry in China, and is regarded as a "smokeless industry" in the new century with a broad prospect of development. The economic co-efficient of exhibition industry to other related industries is up to1:9, which means if exhibition industry makes a profit of1yuan, the related industries will take9yuan. As the conventional and supporting service industries of exhibition, tourism industry, advertising industry, catering industry, communications industry and other industries will be highly benefited.With the gigantic foreign exhibition enterprises entering China, a more systematic and continued performance management, turns as an important symbol of the domestic exhibition enterprises to the modernization management, and it is also an important guarantee for the domestic exhibition enterprises to participate in the international competitions.Firstly, this paper introduces the theory of performance management, according to the theoretical analysis of G&D Exhibition Company performance management status, problems and causes. Based on the description of the performance appraisal model of G&D Exhibition Company, I also make an analysis on the current performance management of the G&D Exhibition Company and come to a conclusion that:The G&D Company performance evaluation is treated as the performance management, and the system of performance management is not closely related to the company strategy; Lack of a performance scientific index system, and the index setting is out of balance; Lack of co-ordination within the company; Company objectives and targets are not assigned to individuals, and lack of daily effective performance guidance and feedback; Company strategy is not clearly inculcated to employees, and the company is not able to know the employees’key development direction; Individual returns is not linked to his performance, and performance management is not hooked to the employees’incentive; Lack of an effective management tool and a review process; And the implementation of personnel matching problem. According to the current shortcomings, I analyze the reasons of performance enhancing power shortage, the in-correct concept of performance management, and the staggered management functions, which exist in this company’s performance management. Based on the causes of the performance management of G&D Company and the existing problems, I put forward the improvement design of the performance management of G&D Company and implementation plan, which mainly use the Balanced Scorecard Performance Management, from the view of company strategy, from top to bottom layer decomposition of performance indicators, and through the performance communication training, implementation of the cash compensation, information system construction to ensure performance goals and company strategy. This paper adopts the method of combining theory and practice, using the Balanced Scorecard Performance Management methods to apply to the exhibition enterprises, and it provides a certain reference value to improve the enterprises’performance management level.
