Supplier management is an important part of supply chain management whichinfluences whether a whole supply chain can be successful or not. Setting up a scientificand reasonable supplier management system is an efficient way to build up the corecompetence of the company.First, the thesis clarifies the definition of supplier categorization and strategicsupplier and introduces the general theory of supplier management from theoreticalaspect. The theory of strategic supplier management is deeply analyzed including howto search and screen and choose strategic suppliers, how to evaluate the performance ofthe strategic suppliers, how to manage the relationship with strategic suppliers,Second, the thesis introduces the supplier management situation in case company Abefore the year2012and deems there exist problems such as lack of systematic suppliermanagement system, lack of aim of supplier management, lack of standard of suppliermanagement etc. which leads to serious result. The proposal and steps of setting up astrategic supplier management system in company A is introduced. According to theresult of strategic supplier performance evaluation, it’s believed preliminary result hasbeen achieved through implementing the proposal and it’s helpful to the suppliermanagement of company A.Finally, the thesis proposes the aspects to be improved, which is instructive to thepractice of manufacturing companies. |
