High turnover and low employment cause a huge negative impact on the healthy development of the hotel industry. Researches have been made focusing on existing staff of a hotel, but few of them took tourism undergraduates as potential high-quality talents. With good potential and cultivating future, tourism graduates are the keys to the high-quality talent crisis of the hospitality industry. However, the same problem of low employment rate lies among tourism graduates. Taking them as the research object, this article attempts to seek out approaches remitting the crisis by improve their employment rate in hotels. This paper aims to get the whole picture of the professional psychological demands of the undergraduates, so that it will help hotel enterprises meet the professional psychological need by adopting scientific and rational human resource management measures to improve the employment rate for the hotel.Studies have found that it is work value that influences the employment intension of the college students. Acting as the psychological standards, work value can be divided into intentional work value (The ultimate goal of career) and instrumental work value (The secondary goal of career). While the former indicating the hidden motive standard, the latter represents the explicit conditional standard. By applying quantitative methods, this article discussed the following questions, i.e. how do intentional work value and instrumental work value of tourism undergraduates affect their employment intention to a hotel respectively? What specific factors of work values affect their employment intention to a hotel? The work value scale and employment intention scale of tourism undergraduates in this article are consulted from professor Jin Shenghua and Song Zibin. The data are collected among320different tourism undergraduates from Shandong University, Hubei University, Hunan Normal University, China University of Geosciences, Jiangxi Normal University, Ningbo University and South China Agricultural University. With multiple stepwise regression analysis of SPSS Version17.0, it discovered that:among the4factors of the intentional occupational value, Family Preservation. Status Seeking and Social Facilitation showed significant influences on hospitality employment intention, nevertheless accomplishment is not remarkable. In terms of extent. Family Preservation came first, then followed Status Seeking, they both showed negative impacts. Though at a low degree, Social Facilitation brought out a positive influence. According to the influence degree size, the4influential factors of instrumental work value came as Remuneration Prestige, Vocational Perspective, Relaxed Stability and Welfare Benefits. Among all the6factors, Remuneration Prestige, Vocational Perspective. Relaxed Stability showed negative impacts, while Welfare Benefits brought out a positive influence. Interest in personality and Ethical means are indistinctive. On the basis of the above findings, this article puts forward five more flexible proposals including staff recruitment and configuration, training, career management and so on in order to improve the hotel employment rate of tourism undergraduates. The main contribution of this study is that it made a deep inquiry of the inner professional psychological demands of tourism undergraduates by quantitative method, dividing occupational value hierarchically into intentional and instrumental. The result of this research is helpful for hotel Executives’to excavate the influencing mechanism between the ultimate goal of career and the hospitality employment intention of tourism graduates and to adopt flexible resource management strategies to enhance tourism graduates employment rate in hotel industry.
