According to the 2016 China Human Capital Survey published by Ahewitt, the world-renowned human resources consulting firm, the number of employees leaving the workforce in China in 2016 was about 20.8 percent,of which the active rate was about 14.9 per cent. The result shows that the problem of employee turnover has become one of the important issues that need our attention. As a kind of value criterion with stability and permanence, work values can significantly influence employee's work attitude and behavior, which has far-reaching significance to reduce employee turnover tendency by predicting employee attitude. At the same time, with the post-80 s and post-90 s generation entering the workforce, the generational differences in work values are becoming more and more prominent, bringing more challenges to human resource management practices. From the perspective of intergenerational differences, this paper explores the influence mechanism of work values on employee turnover tendency, aiming to reduce the turnover rate through the effective management of employee's work values and to provide the relevant reference value for human resources management practice.Through literature combing and theoretical analysis,a theoretical model based on working value as independent variable and demerit tendency as dependent variable is constructed.Based on a total of 574 valid questionnaires from the post-70,post-80,and post-90 generations of employees, descriptive statistical analysis, reliability analysis, difference analysis, related analysis, and regression analysis were performed using social statistics software SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 21.0.Related data processing,To explore the difference of employee's working values, the intergenerational difference of employee's working values, the influence of working values on their separation tendency and the difference in the degree of influence between different generations. The findings of this study are as follows:(1)Work values have a significant negative effect on turnover tendency, the three dimensions of safety and comfort, ability and growth, status and independence of work values have significant negative effects on turnover tendency;(2)There are significant generational differences in working values,post-90 s employees are more secure and comfortable in their work,post-70 s employees pay more attention to ability and growth,post-80 s,there was no obvious tendency;(3)The influence degree of working values on turnover intention is different. The safety and comfort work values of post-90 s employees have a greater influence on turnover intention than post-70 s and post-80 s employees. The ability and growth, status and independent work values of post-70 s employees are more influential than post-80 s and post-90 s employees;(4)There are significant differences in working values in different individual characteristic variables, such as gender, marital status, the highest level of education and so on.
