Background: As an important science, knowledge managementis developing quickly, more and more researchers have studied itand gotten a lot of important results. However，most of them arequalitative analysis about the knowledge management’s definition,classify, levels and the studying school. There is no paper aboutwhat is the study fever now and what is the research trends,knowing the research trends is very important to our furtherstudying. This paper focus on the area of knowledge managementwith the methods of co-word analysis method and social networksmethod. It have made a clearly evolution about the area’sknowledge structure and can be help to us to understand theresearchers’currently research emphasis and what the areas havenot been referred.Methods: We have studied the papers about knowledgemanagement in10years(2003-2013). We obtained the data fromWeb of Science. Firstly, we saved the keywords, authors, publishedtime and other key information to a file; Secondly, we used theBibexcel software to analysis the file, including transfer the fileform. We have analysised the frequency of keywords and authorsand their co-word frequency through which we can understand the matrix and used the Netdraw software to get the keywordsco-occurrence and authors’ cooperation networks. To understandthe changing of authors’ cooperation relationship, we used theUcinet6software to analysis some complex networkscharacteristic including the average path length and the clusteringcoefficient.Result: Between2003and2013, the research mostly focused onthe knowledge, knowledge ontology, knowledge sharing, knowledgemanagement systems, mainland knowledge, information systems,management, information management, data minimize, knowledgerepresentative, engineering desigh, innovation and others.Compared with2003-2008, in the research of2008-2013, peopletake more attention on the environmental protection and theresource problem. From the view of authors, meanwhile, Thepeople who participate in this area changed a lot. It indicated thatthe researchers in this area renewed quite fast. based on theco-occurrence visualization atlas and the complex networksproperty studying, we found that in2008-2013, the relationshipbetween researchers became more closer than before. The wholerelative networks’ average distance have been minish and theclustering coefficient have become more bigger. The network havethe feature of “small world”.Conclusion: Study direction about this area should be moremore. We should combine the studying of knowledge managementwith the hot area like virtual community, expand this area both indepth and width.
