Abstract/Summary:
Stone is renowned to record the creativity of construction design, represent the unique ofthe structure for its durable and natural beauty. In the building history, the famous decorationstone building can be found everywhere. UM company is a leader of the stone industry inchina, producing mainly middle and high structure decorated products, which are sold todomestic and international market. With the increasingly complex competitive environmentand the decorated stone characteristics, UM can still be the leader of the stone industry only ifthe specially strategy research, the future direction, the strategy development goals and actionplanning are conducted. Supply chain strategy is a necessary part of the company strategy.For this reason, to ensure it materialize, supply chain strategy and company strategy should becooperated with each other. Competitive strategy which contented customer and the ability ofthe supply chain should be unity, which can better content the requirement of the customers.For the stone is natural, most stone mines’ quality has big changes since winter and rainseason have big effects on the exploit of the stone mines, so the quality and the output ofstone material are uncertain. The improvement of the supply chain can give a big chance inreducing the cost, increasing the profit, improving the service. With the intensify competitionof the stone industry, the industry needs to have continuous improvement to the productsprocess, develop the quality, reduce the cost, enhance the ability to meet customer’s demand.In order to guarantee the supply chain to support the company’s strategy, we need the strategydisposal and stuffing and put the different products, different chains integrate into theindustry’s strategy, in this way we can accomplish the strategy reform of the full supply chainand obtain the competitive advantage.Taking UM as the research object, firstly, we analyze the development environment,mainly including the home and abroad economical analysis, the present and future situation ofstone market industry, the policy analysis. Secondly, we use SWOT method to analyze theexternal chances and threaten, and the internal: advantages and disadvantages. Thirdly, mainbusiness line is decided by analyzing company’s strategy. Fourthly,the company’sdevelopment strategy and targets are made by the measures which include planning on thesupply chain, adjustment on organizations, improvement of raw materials’ supply,rearrangement of internal production&stock resource and market network. All these doneaims at improving the competitive ability in different markets and matching supply chainstrategy and company’s strategy. The above research achievements and conclusion have alittle reference and learn value to the invest decisions and improvement of supply chain in stone industry.
