In recent years, with the deepening of industrialization and urbanization, the ecological crisis has become the biggest crisis and the most severe challenge today. This situation results in a low-carbon economy, energy conservation and other words. The country is also increasing emphasis on the protection of the environment, more and more research on this aspect. The port is an important driving force of the world economic growth and also a major source of pollution and energy units. Evaluation of energy saving efficiency and comprehensive study of port is very important, so this article studies the energy saving efficiency analysis and a comprehensive evaluation based on the example of Dalian port.The paper selects data envelopment analysis (DEA) and principal component analysis (PCA) as the main research methods. DEA model is a model based on linear programming methods to establish the research indicators which do not need to set a reference value, and thus the impact of external factors such as man-made factors and institutional factors do not work, the actual operation is also relatively simple. In addition, dimension reduction technique of PCA processing provides a good way to the comprehensive evaluation of this article.Therefore, take DEA and PCA as main research methods on the basis of in-depth theory study of energy conservation work on port. The main contents of the study are as follows:Firstly, on the basis of an extensive literature study and case analysis, the port energy saving and its evaluation methods of domestic and foreign were reviewed. Understand the research status and to provide a theoretical basis for future research.Secondly, from the t two angles of theoretical analysis and empirical simulation analyze impact factors of port energy saving, points out that the major role of technical innovation and progress in low-carbon energy saving.Then, analyze and summarize the main comprehensive evaluation method of port low-carbon energy saving, from the aspects as principle, model, advantages and disadvantages, etc. The final choice of the main research methods are DEA and PCA on the basis of Dalian port energy conservation.Finally, aim to Dalian port as an example, design evaluation index system, using DEA to evaluate investment, output efficiency of Dalian port energy saving, and make a comprehensive evaluation of the efficiency for the past five years of Dalian port using PCA. Draw a conclusion that Dalian port have got a better result in energy saving and emission reduction work.
