Research On Building And Fostering Of Innovation Incubation Network Of SMEs In Clusters

The emergence of industrial clusters has become an important factor in determining regional competitiveness as a new organizational type, and it has been a great concern of government and academia. The network structure of industrial clusters can effectively transfer and diffuse tacit knowledge, accelerate the rate of knowledge innovation, and maintain and promote innovative advantages of enterprises in clusters. However, clusters are subject to various risks and challenges in the process of development. The rigidity of cluster innovation severely weakens clusters’ability to respond quickly to changing market demand, and strong dependence on the industrial chain and lock-in effect may result in the loss of regional innovation capability. Building and fostering SME-oriented innovation incubation network is an effective way to cope with the various crises and challenges for industrial clusters.First, the paper reviews theories of incubation network and collaborative innovation network of SMEs in clusters based on literature, and defines the concept of innovation incubation network. Secondly, the paper analyzes the relation schema and coupling mechanism of innovation incubation network and collaborative innovation network of SMEs in clusters. Dalian Double D Innovation Incubator is analyzed as an exemplary case. On this basis innovation incubation network is built and the paper sets forth the functional orientation, network structure, framework model and network characteristics. Next the paper presents innovation incubation network of SMEs in clusters based on TRM, states development process, and proposes fostering measures.The paper aims to strengthen the support to innovative activities of SMEs in clusters, promote innovation capacity of clusters and foster regional rooted innovative industrial clusters by building and fostering innovation incubator network. It has important theoretical significance and practical value to adjust the industrial structure, promote the development of the industrial chain, transform economic growth pattern, and build an innovative country.
