The Research On The E-commerce&Furniture Industrial Cluster Of Shaji Dongfeng Village Based On Actor-Network Theory

Urban and regional development has become the forefront and hot issues of academic attention in the Information Age. However, relative researches about rural areas are still inadequate. This paper captures a special case that happened in the rural area of Northern Jiangsu. the society and economy of which dramatically changed by e-commerce, a representative of information technology. Applying actor-network theory and the embeddedness theory which is frequently used in the research of industrial cluster, this article researches on the E-commerce&furniture cluster of Dongfeng Village, which is in Shaji Town Suining County Xuzhou City. Using the method of following to the actor in ANT, this article retrospectively shows the process of emerging and transforming in the E-commerce&furniture cluster of Dongfeng Village, from two aspects of documents re-presentation and field-work.Found by analyzing the process, there are three actor-network in the emerging process of the "Shaji Mode". The first actor-network is the process of entrepreneurship of the pioneer. In this network, the focal actor builds the network through the four process of translation, which are problematization, intressment, enrollment and mobilization. It is found by researching that embeddedness especially the spirit of entrepreneurship plays an important role in constructing the first actor-network. The obligatory point of passage of this network is E-commerce&Taobao. The second network is the E-commerce&furniture cluster in Dongfeng Village with the obligatory point of passage of E-commerce&furniture industry. Humans and nonhumans are equally important in this network. And the business air of Dongfeng Village as culture embeddedness is the focal actor of the network. The third actor-network takes "Shaji" as the obligatory point of the passage. This network connects Shaji with the outside world. And in the transformation process of the "Shaji Mode", actors in the cluster taking "crisis" as the obligatory point of passage, they transformed the "Shaji Mode" gradually in the translation to the "crisis"It concludes that the structure of the "Shaji Mode" is, the industrial cluster that sale by C2C and producing of traditional and simple manufacture. It generates in the five special condition. Also, the article gets that the possible direction of development of the "Shaji Mode" is the industrial cluster of E-commerce&furniture&logistics.
