With China’s accession to the WTO, the market competition is increasing and presents the trend of globalization. As manufacturing base of the world, the gap is shrinking in equipment and technology with the developed countries. But the gap of managements still faces serious challenges, which has become the exploration and research direction for enterprises and academics to enhance the market competitiveness by introduction of advanced management techniques combined with the actual situation of enterprises.This thesis emphasizes on analyzing the problems in TJJD Rubber Co., Ltd such as unreasonable plant layout, dirty production site and unbalance production line, and proposing the solutions by applying the systematic layout planning (SLP), the6S management technology and the production line balancing methods.The layout design is addressed for the factory by applying SLP method. Considering the current situation and future development, the relation graph is obtained by analyzing material and non-material flows, and three feasible layout plans are obtained, which are compared by applying the comparative law of equivalent flow capacity so as to obtain the optimal design. With the layout redesign, the logistics operational efficiency is improved, and the production system is optimized. Then, the work-flow of the rolling production line is analyzed by the process program analysis, human-machine operation analysis,5W1H technology and ECRS principle. After analysis of feasible options, the overall improvement programs are obtained, including the simplifed process and operating multiple machines by one. With these improvements, the operating time is shortened, production efficiency is improved and labor costs are reduced. Finally, taking the rolling workshop as an example, the production site is improved through6S management. After in-depth analysis of "Organization, Neatness, Cleaning, Erasure, Safety, Discipline and training", the thesis is focused on the existing problems:obstructed channel, messed placement and left over materials. Practical goals, model district, reward and penalty systems are set up to ensure the smooth implementation of6S management. The working environment, product efficiency, quality, and the market competition are all improved.With these approaches, logistics costs and product costs are reduced, production efficiency, product quality, corporate image and competitiveness are all improved, and the solid basis is established for the future development.
