With the development of global economic integration and strengthen of marketcompetition, the competition of the auto market has long been changed from the competitionbetween the auto companies to the competition between supply chains of the auto companies.Third-party logistics, as the essential part within the automotive supply chain, is playing anincreasingly important role. At present, China’s third-party automotive logistics is in thedevelopment stage. With comprehensive and objective performance evaluation andperformance management to the third-party logistics, it could assist the third-party logistics todevelop healthily, orderly and rapidly, which would also has the following far-reachingpractical significance: it will be beneficial to the enterprises investors for their adjustment ofthe investment orientate and strength to ensure the quality of the investment decision; it couldprovide a more accurate evaluation of enterprises’ operating performance, and establish aneffective incentive and restraint mechanisms; it could allow the enterprise to more sensitivelyunderstand the development of the logistics industry and to formulate correct developmentstrategic and operational measures by considering the actual demand in a timely manner.Meanwhile, with the continuous and in-depth development of the theory and practice ofmodern logistics, it is objectively required the establishment of a corresponding logisticsenterprises performance evaluation index system in order to reflect the operations of logisticsenterprises in a more scientific manner. Therefore, the establishment of an effective,actionable third-party automotive logistics enterprises performance evaluation index system isable to help enterprises to improve their management level, to promote the development ofthird-party automotive logistics enterprises, and to further promote the development of theautomobile industry.This paper will take the third-party in-plant logistics enterprise of an automobilemanufacturing company G, namely FNL, as the research object. Firstly, to illustrate anoverview of the current domestic and international research profile on3PL PerformanceEvaluation; secondly, to have a detailed analysis on the general situation of Company G, FNL,and the current performance evaluation system of FNL and further extract the problems to besolved; further, to seek inspiration by study of the3PL performance evaluation system theorywhich includes the scorecard, performance prism, and to build a performance evaluationsystem by selecting five evaluation index related to financial, customer, internal processes,learning and growth, external interests, and using subjective and objective combination evaluation method; Finally, to empirically analyze the performance evaluation of FNL byintegrating the PDCA closed-loop management method.
