Labor relation, as one of the most important social relations, has both economicand social properties. Labor dispute is the conflict between employees and employers inlabor relation, which not only has a significant impact on enterprise’s economicinterests, but also is related to social harmony and stability. Studying and resolving theproblem of the labor dispute is an important issue in the field of labor relation.D town in the city of ZS, well-known by its jeans products, have a large number ofgarment manufacturing enterprises, and make it a typical labor-intensive industry region.From May1st2008to April30th2012, the Labor Arbitration Court of ZS had received1189labor dispute cases, of which63.25percent (752cases) put garment and apparelemployers as respondents. Such a high proportion indicates that labor disputes inlabor-intensive enterprises have become an important factor influencing harmoniouslabor relation and harmonious society.In this dissertation, a detailed analysis of the status and characteristics of D towntextile and garment industry labor dispute is conducted firstly. Secondly, the authoranalyzes the impacting factors of the high incidence of the industry’s labor disputerespectively from four different perspectives: employees, employers, social economicand legal environment. Finally, the present study gives countermeasures tolabor-intensive enterprises on how to effectively deal with labor dispute and buildharmonious labor relation.
