| In recent years, our industrial output value has gained rapid increase. Thedevelopment of industrial economy has accomplished remarkable achievements.Industrial development has brought more material comforts and better quality ofservice to people’s life. However, in the industrial development and the progress oftechnology at the same time, industry has more and more influence on resources.With the conflict between the environment and the industry is sharpened. Humanhas gradually realized the consequences of over-grab resources and pay attention tothe harmonious development of economy and ecology. However, usually peopleonly focus on the emission levels of production process. Actually, from theindustrial raw material, product manufacturing, mining to commodity consumptionof each link, will occupy a lot of resources and generate emergy flows. Therefore, inorder to estimate industry department’s impact on the environment objectively,research should be expanded in the whole production process, not only theproduction process. By the way of the emergy flow analysis, this paper gives aquantitative analysis of industrial pressure on the environment, and then discussesthe sustainable development of the industry.Firstly this paper introduces the development process of emergy analysismethod, the theoretical basis, the system boundary and the emergy indexescalculation program.Secondly, China’s industrial sector is the object of study. Using the data from2000to2009as samples, this article is based on emergy analysis to establish theindustrial sector of material input, output, the import and export, include:renewable environmental resources, nonrenewable environmental resources, energysubstances, mineral substances, agriculture, forestry and livestock industry, laborinput, water usage and waste emissions from industrial sectors.In the end, this paper gives an overview of the sustainable development of theChina’s industrial system based on the emergy balance sheet and emergy indexsystem according to actual condition. The main conclusions in this article are givenas follows: First, in2000-2009, Chinese industry system total emergyinputs,outputs are all increased, about10%every year. Secondly, whatever thestyle of index is, it may illuminate our industrial resources is in great demand andrising trend. and has brought large pressure to the environment.Thirdly, labor emergy occupies the largest proportion; according to the order are mineral emergyinvestment, agriculture and forestry and animal husband emergy investment, thenthe industrial materials emergy investment. Annual investing material has the sameratio. It demonstrates that Chinese industry development mode shouldstill be considered as labor intensive. The fourth, through comparative analysisabout the index of the main economic system in the world, we can have an ideaabout the Chinese industrial department has a high-intensity use of resources, andalso shows that Chinese industrial system has not realized the sustainabledevelopment. |
