Strategic management is the enterprise to own locates in the strategic environment analysis, found its advantages and disadvantages, threat and opportunity, to their own shortcomings and advantages for understanding, then choose some strategy to make him in the fierce competition in the market in an invincible position in the management methods.Linhai iron and steel co., LTD.(hereinafter referred to as the iron and steel) was founded in1958, the enterprise now employees12000people, the total assets of12.6billion yuan, the bank credit rating AAA level, with4million tons of iron,4.2million tons,4.35million tons of wood production capacity. Metallurgy industry is one of the backbone enterprises, the main business income in China top500enterprises listed in231, made in China top500enterprises listed in118, of the top enterprises in Qingdao city in four columns. Although the steel has considerable strength and scale, but in the iron and steel market competition gradually enhanced, the difficulty of acquiring resources gradually increase the situation, determine the linhai steel the future development strategy is the work must be carried out. Linhai iron and steel in the1990s to the implementation of the strategic management, in the process of implementing has obtained some achievements, but there is also need to perfect place.Based on the actual situation of our country iron and steel industry and the current situation of the development of the iron and steel on the foundation of analysis, using PEST analysis, five competitive forces model and research method of the strategic environment of iron and steel are analyzed; Use of SWOT analysis to linhai steel the existing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges are analyzed, and based on this, the competition strategy formulation, respectively formulate the differentiation strategy and focus change strategy.
