Frominternational successful enterprises,we can see they can’t get successful without theguidance of development strategy. Not only large enterprises use development strategy,someof small and medium-sized enterprises are also in guidance of development strategy. Theobject of this paper-A building materials company is a typical of small and medium-sizedenterprises chosen from Changchun City. It has just emerged from difficult period of theventure, and is about to enter the expansion phase of transition, while the marketenvironment it faced is also changing a lot. Faced with grim situation of the externalenvironment, how to choose a breakthrough and a clear way to seek long-term sustainabledevelopment is an urgent problem to be solved. The purpose of this paper is to makedevelopment strategy through analysis internal and external environment of the A buildingmaterials company, and also to give other small and middle enterprises warning andreference.In Chapter1-the background of the paper is described, basic theory of strategy andgeneral statement of the basic situation of A building materials company is listed to makereaders clear. In Chapter2, the external environment for A building materials company isstudied in-depth analysis from the macro, meso and microscopic levels, and finally we makea comprehensive analysis by competitive situation (CPM) matrix and External FactorEvaluation (EFE) Matrix.
