After so many years’development, supply chain management is still under the spotlight of both business field and academic field, even emphasized more by enterprises, especially multinational companies. In these years, national conflicts become more obvious, trade collision more intense, chaos caused by culture gap more frequently, and man-made disasters took place now and then. All these uncertain factors impose disruption risks on supply chain. Year2001witnessed9/11terrorist attacks.2002US west coast port strike, global SARS and H1N1attacks, Hurricane Katrina in2005, fire in the supplier’s plant of Ericsson,2008China snow disaster and earthquake Wenchuan, Typhoon Morakot, Parma and Moli lead into disruption in different degree. Since2009, Toyoto has been stuck in "Recall Gate", put this business titan on the edge of bankrupt. In the past decade, the trade conflicts of Sino-US and Sino-Euro are becoming hotter and hotter. All these may make companies expose to disruption risks.Confronting with frequent disruption events, companies need to not only keep supply chain system operate efficiently but bounce on track after disruption, that is, resilience. Based on the new concept of optimization on design and operation in resilient supply chain, this paper will concentrating on the integrated of design and operation in resilient supply chain.(1) The research background of this paper is introduced, and the meaning and great potential are generalized. Finally, the contents and research framework of this paper is summerized.(2) Related theory review. Basic concept and related theories of supply chain planning and supply chain resilience are introduced, providing theoretic base for the following research.(3) Multi-period optimization model for resilient supply chain based on demand uncertainty and disruption risks is formulated. According to the nature of objective, two models are formulated:integrated operation cost or service level with disruption cost. Two-stage planning model and goal programming are applied to solve the models.(4) The example analysis is conducted on the resilient supply chain formulation. The model and approach are proved applicable to resolve resilient supply chain issue by a numerical example.In addition, the main findings and conclusions, major contribution and limitations and requiring work for further research are summarized at the end of the paper.
