Research On The Chinese New Energy Strategy In The Perspective Of Energy Security

Energy is the material basis for human activities, which is also the fundamentaldriving force for the development of the whole world. In a way, the development ofhuman society could not make without the usage of good energy and advanced energytechnologies. The energy crisis happened in1970s triggered a debate about energysecurity in international society, until now, the content of energy security is expandingfrom the security of energy supply to the close connection with politics, military,economics and environment in every description. However, in the current energy mixwhich was dominant by fossil energy, each actor is living in an energy securitydilemma while the world energy is in a chaos situation. And how to protect theirenergy security is the emergency issue for each country, even for the wholeinternational society. Some measures like set up oil strategic storage， enhance theefficiency of fossil energy and diversify the supply of oil and gas, which just couldcope with the energy crisis exploded in a short time. Furthermore, the fossil energy isdraining day after day, developing energy in a sustainable way is the trend for energyusage. In this thesis, I want to shift our mind and jump out of the current energy mix,discuss the possibility of substitution of current energy mix by developing new energy,and map out the development strategies of new energy to protect our country’s energysecurity.The body of this thesis is comprised from three parts. The first part is proceedingwith the safe theory, and then analyzing the content and the impact factors of energysecurity. And dissecting the current situations of energy security around the world,which is accordance with the energy security theory above. The second part isdemonstrating that to develop new energy is the available way to supersede thetraditional energy mix and to protect our country’s energy security and to cope with theenergy crisis by the way. I also did some descriptions about the Status Quo of newenergy developed in our country, which has made an expanded exploration for the nextpart. In the third part, I elaborated new energy development strategy for our country infive respects. In this paper, I analyzed the international energy security situations combinetheory with practice, such as the geopolitical theory and IPE theory. I exert my effortsto elaborate the importance of developing new energy to china in the perspective ofenergy security. And put the development of new energy on the strategic height bymaking out our country’s new energy strategy.
