| As an important material, energy is crucial to human survival and production.Since the policy of reform and opening-up carried out in last century, the industry ofGansu province has made an great contribution to the rapid and stable development ofthe regional economy. However, with the development of industry, energyconsumption is also increasing rapidly. The outstanding problems in the industrialdevelopment in Gansu province is the unreasonable industry structure, such as, theheavy industry accounted for a significant proportion and light industry accounted fora small proportion; The proportion of public ownership economy is too heary, and theproportion of the non-public economy is relatively too small; with high consumptionand high pollution, the traditional industry occupies a most part in the proportion, atthe same time, high and new technology industry characterized by resourceconservation and environment friendly, is relative small in the proportion. Therefore,these problems on the industrial structure, has seriously hampered the sustainabledevelopment of the industry and the whole regional economy in the Gansu province.If the traditional industrial structure is not changed, it will bound to exacerbate theproblem of energy shortages and environmental damage, and affect the sustainableeconomic development. So, in order to maintain the momentum of rapid developmentof Gansu province’s economy, and solve the contradiction between economic growthand energy constraints and environmental pollution, we have to change the traditionalindustrial model of development and optimize the industrial structure.In this paper, the industrial structure and optimization of the Gansu province hasbeen analysized according to the qualitative method, based on the relational theory ofindustrial structure. Firstly, this paper analyzes the present situation of industrialstructure and the consumption of energy, and statically and dynamically analyzes theconsumption of industrial energy with the Input-Quput Analysis Method. Problems inthe industrial structure and the characteristics of industrial energy consumption ofGansu province have also been studied. Secondly, the correlation of consumption ofindustrial energy and the industry structure has been analyzed according to the FactorAnalysis Method. Thirdly, Acoording to the Factor Analysis Method, the LeadingIndustry which comply with the goal of reduction in energy consumption has been choosed and the leading industry group has been determined in this manuscript.Finally, Based on the above, the targeted industrial structure optimization suggestionsbased on the target to reduce energy consumption of Gansu province are proposed. |
