To meet the demanding needs for transportation under the influenceof urban sprawling, the construction of transport infrastructure at home isundergoing fast growth, especially, the planning and construction oftransport hubs. Being at its starting stage, the development of transport hubareas is totally a new topic for governments to discuss all around thecountry. According to different types of transport hubs, the modes ofdevelopment pattern are also different. The thesis studies on the selectionmodel of leading industry in large-scale transport hub areas, from theperspective that the establishment of transport hubs will boost thedevelopment of certain industries.Firstly, this thesis classifies the transport hubs into different types andmakes it clear which type of transport hub the paper is studying on. Then,it combines current situations of the transport hubs with theoreticalresearch on the effects the hubs may have on the regional industrialdevelopment. Based on that, the thesis proposes three kind of developingmodel transport hubs may have.Secondly, the thesis establishes a five-steps-selection model inchoosing leading industries in large-scale transport hub areas for the lattertwo models, where detailed leading industry planning is needed. When itcomes to the establishment of selecting indicator system, three dimensions, that is, industry base, industry potentials and regional advantage arebrought together. Turning to the calculation models, both principalcomponent analysis and integrated analysis (quantitative analysis andqualitative analysis) are used to do the first and second phase of selection. The two phase procedures improve the accuracy of the result. Finally, the thesis does a case study on Shanghai Hongqiao businessdistrict, and proves the models and methods right and feasible. Therefore, the research and conclusions are very useful for other large-scale transporthubs’ development to come. |
