In recent years, with the rapid development of China’s economic construction needs,the construction industry has been occupied a very important position in China’s nationaleconomy, many foreign construction enterprises spotted construction market in China, andhave added, which makes China’s construction market diversified, multi-formdevelopment pattern. The fast-growing enterprises of the construction work in a goodmarket environment, whether it is the sense of competition or the ability to respond tomarket has been strengthened, the level of corporate cost control of construction projectshave been greatly improved.This paper takes the construction industry and the internal situation of AZ Companyas its researching background, and examines the domestic and international researchfindings of cost control. It then introduces the basic concepts, principles and workingprocedures of construction project, and three most common cost control methods, such asthe theory of cost estimation, budget and control. By introducing the backgroundinformation of AZ Company and its current condition of construction project cost control,the paper analyzes the strengths and weaknesses in the cost control method adopted by theCompany. The author puts forward corresponding improvement scheme according to theexisting problems in construction project cost control of AZ Company, which include thelack of advanced cost control philosophy, scientific control method, effective methods ofimplementation, as well as incentives and training mechanisms. Evaluations of thepresented improvement scheme would be made and supporting measures to theconstruction project cost control of the AZ Company would be given by the end of thepaper.
