The Study Of Tianjin Urban Governance Model

The city is not only the vector of economic development, but alsothe economic, political, education, science, technology and culturecenter of a region or a country. Cities are the main bearer ofinternational competition between countries and mark a country s degreeof modernization. The development of cities also reveals the process ofhuman civilization from lower forms to higher forms.Big cities have a high concentration of population, and theirpressure of the ecological environment and social problems are alsoconstantly increased. These facts lead to a higher requirement of theurban governance. However, the study of urban governance model in Chinais not good enough, and the traditional urban management model is stillaffected. These become deep-seated problems and restrict the improvementof Chinese cities competitiveness and urban development. Theseproblems should be solved in theory and practice.In the new era, Tianjin city should proceed from its actual situationand build their urban governance model in order to achieve itsdevelopment and ensure it can remain invincible in the fierce competitionin the future. Firstly, this paper analyzed the connotation, essence,subjects and the structure of urban governance by accessing to theextensive literature. Secondly, it explored the general model of urbangovernance and the practice of urban governance at home and abroad, andgot some revelations from this contract. Thirdly, this paper analyzedTianjin City s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challengesin-depth. At last, this paper try to build objectives, principles andthe path of the Tianjin city governance model from the perspective ofthe city government.
