The Research On Technological Leapfrogging Of ZTE Corporation

This thesis firstly reviewed the basic theories related with technologicalleapfrogging, such as A-U model, S-curve, technology patterns, technologytrajectory, disruptive technology, TRIZ, technology cell, technology transferand technology spillovers. Then, it analyzed the technological leapfroggingstatus of ZTE Corporation from key technology indicators, patents staticsdata, market shares, sales. Follow that, it discussed the impact of technologyevolution/government policy/market and R&D productivity on ZTE’stechnological leapfrogging. Finally, we concluded the pattern of ZTE, whichis, in the overall technology upward trends where there is difference betweeneach generation, the agent can firstly adapt pass-following method to learn bydoing, and then shorten the distance with the vantage of Chinese market andR&D productivity, catch-up or leapfrog when there is opportunity.
