Abstract/Summary:
In recent years, as the international power market developing rapidly, the Chinesecontractor obtained more and more oversea project contract. But the history of Chinesecontractor executing international power project is less than20years, the risk management ofChinese contractor still lack the systematic system and comprehensive identification. SoEstablish systematic power contracting project risk management system has greatsignificance.Saudi YANBU Thermal power Plant EPC Project is the study object of this article. Thisproject is an international large power station EPC project which exist great opportunities andchallenges for Chinese power contracting enterprise. Base on the background and charactersof the Saudi YANBU Thermal power Plant EPC Project, the article identify the6big kindsand16risk factors of this project including project external environment risk, projectdevelopment risk, project business risk, project technology risk, project human resources riskand the subcontractor risk. After identifying the risk of the project, the possibility and impactmatrix method has been used to structure a risk matrix model for Saudi YANBU ThermalPower Plant EPC Project for analyzing these risk factors base on the project factual situation.Then the article classifies16risk factors into three risky levels according to the possibilityand impact of the risk.Base on the classified risk factor, the article brings risk response strategies and riskcontrol methods.
