An Interpretation On The Means Of Folk Information Spreading In She Minority Area

She minority is an ancient minority in southeast China. They call themselves"Shan Ha" or "Shan Da" which means they are "the guests of mountain". They mainlydwell in the mountains of Fujian, Zhejiang and Jiangxi provinces. Jinzhu is the SheTownship in Le’an County, which lies in the east of Jiangxi Province. In the longperiod of historical development, Jinzhu She Minority has formed a unique means offolk information spreading. This article has taken Jinzhu as a typical case. It is writtenon the basis of former studies and author’s own field investigation. At the same time,appealing to some research methods related, the article also does a systematic analysison the ways of information spreading among the local folks.The research on the means of folk information spreading in She Minority areahas both theoretical and practical importance. This article has investigated theenvironment of folk information spreading in Jinzhu, which includes the followingaspects: natural environment, transportation, economy, population, nationalitydistributing and education. This article also defines the concept of ’folk information’.The author mainly elaborates three main kinds of local folk information spreadingways, which are respectively "non-verbal communication","verbal communication"and "interpersonal communication". In each part, there are some typical cases toexplain the features of the above ways. Finally, the article gives brief summary andcomments on folk information spreading characteristics in eastern Jiangxi. What’smore, some viewpoints and suggestions to promote mass communication are given inthis essay, so as to rise the theoretical research to the level of practical guidance.Folk information is an important part of human history and civilization, whichhas great value for research. How to harmoniously integrate the traditional folkinformation spreading means into the mass communication practice? It’s a problemworth pondering.
