Nowadays, leisure is not only the importance part of the city residents’ daily life, but also an import characteristic and progressive marking of our social. According to the foreign scholar, the developed countries will enter the "leisure ages" continuously in2015, and the developing country will be following. The leisure industry will replace the information industry and become the first engine pushing the global economic growth. At present, urban residents owned legal holidays-115days in our country, this means that people have1/3times spend in leisure. The combination of leisure and tourism formed the promising leisure tourism industry.And at the same time, the intensification of the urban problems, and lack of urban green space increased, travel demand and other factors promoted the development of suburb leisure tourism. So, focus and research suburb leisure tourism behavior, has constituted a matter that theory, practice and policy levels must attach great importance to. And the suburban leisure tourism behavior research is also recognized that the basic entry point of the level of development of China’s urban residents leisure. This paper is trying to research suburban leisure tourism behavior of Xi’an urban residents, providing market basis for the development of Xi’an suburb leisure tourism, and hope to have some reference for other domestic similar cities.This paper is based on the questionnaire of the urban residents suburb leisure tourism behavior, selecting Xi’an urban resident as the research object, field surveys to obtain first-hand information, mainly to study the suburb leisure tourism behavior of Xi’an urban resident, using the mathematical statistics to analyze the overall features of the Xi’an city residents of suburban leisure tourism behavior, using factor analysis to analyze the push and pull factors of each factor, and analyzing the push factor-travel motives and pull factor-destination-aware based on push-pull theory, and also analysing the correlation of the push-pull factors in the different demographic characteristics. In the end, based on the analysis’results, we propose a suitable development strategy for suburban leisure tourism of Xi’an city.The conclusions of this study are drawn as follows:Xi’an residents have a positive attitude of suburban leisure tourism, they often accompanied by their relatives, friends and colleagues, self-driving travel is becoming popular; leisure tourism radius is two hours drive, and they often choose the weekend and minor vacation to have a travel; urban residents per capita consumption of leisure tourism at the medium level, consumption structure is mainly in the tickets, meals and accommodation; they always choose water-type, mountains-type,culture-type and folk-type scenic as their leisure tourism destination.By analyzing the pull-push factors that influence travel behavior, we discovered that the population differences of leisure behavior is obviously, there is a big difference of travel motives and destination-aware of different groups; there is a great impact on the demographic characteristics of the relationship between push-pull factors of leisure tourism. The correlation analysis between the push and pull factors is that, push and pull is not independent of each other, but there is a certain correlation, and different demographic characteristics have a greater impact on the relationship between the push and pull.The proposal of developing suburban leisure tourism as follows:give full play to the role of government-led; tourism enterprises focus on the development and publicity strategy; leisure and tourism project developers should be consider the lake water, riparian forest mountain.; suburban leisure travel product should be diversified; tourism product is designed to reflect the spiritual connotation; tourism product development for different market segments.The innovation of this paper lies in that use the leisure tourism behavior of international tourist destination city of Xi’an residents as the object of study, based on the field of tourism market research, found that urban residents travel behavior has change a lot, changed from the traditional long-distance travel into leisure tourism, supplemented in the medium-distance travel; combined with field survey data, from the push and pull of two angles to analyze the factors affecting urban residents of suburban leisure tourism, and have an exploratory testing of the push and pull factors affecting tourist behavior and the relationship of push and pull.The research on suburban leisure tourism was just a preliminary exploration, and was not thorough enough, and there are certain limitations, which will be paid more attention in the future.
