Import Policy Impact On Industry Development Research In Our Country

Since the reform and opening up, the effective implementation of China’s importpolicy has played a positive role in the promotion of development of all industries. Inaddition to providing the necessary energy and raw materials for industrial development,promoting technological progress and innovation, it has also largely driven theoptimization and upgrading of the industrial structure. The development of China’sautomotive industry has also benefited from the implementation of import policy to a largeextent.As a pillar industry of the national economy, the automotive industry occupies apivotal position in the economic growth. Through analyzing the impacts of the importpolicy has on the automotive industry, a clear understanding of the development ofautomotive industry can be revealed, which will help us to enhance the level ofdevelopment of automotive industry, and ultimately promote the development of the wholenational economy.In the beginning, this paper describes the evolution and characteristics of China’simport policy since the reform and opening up. And then the overall impacts of the importpolicy on industrial development are illustrated. After that, this paper analyses the impactsof the import policy on the development of the automotive industry, including acceleratingthe pace of technological progress in the automobile industry, promoting technologicalprogress and the development of parts industry, etc. Especially, on the background of thedegree of trade protection, because of the comprehensive using of import policy, industrialpolicy and foreign policy, the automobile industry had not been affected seriously, thedomestic automobile companies continued to improve technology level and product quality,consequently the international competitiveness improved continuously. Based on theanalysis, this paper also indicates the main problems existing in the import policy and inthe development of the automotive industry. Finally, on the basis of the developmentexperiences of that in Japan and South Korea, this paper offers some recommendations onthe development of China’s automotive industry in accordance with the problemsabove-mentioned.
