Research On Catering’s Effect On The Economic Development Of Chengdu

Catering industry is an important life industry that closely connected with people’s life and closely related with people’s livelihood, and also is an important part of the third industry. With the development of economy and the improvement of people’s living standard, catering industry is becoming more and more important in the national economy. And in Chengdu, which has a long history of diet culture, catering industry plays an important role in its social economic development. Since the reform and opening, the catering industry of Chengdu is stable growth with its social economic. Especially into the21st century, the catering industry of Chengdu is showing rapid development momentum and has become one of the most rapidly developing industries.In the beginning of2005, Chengdu was awarded the title of "THE CITY OF CATE "by UNESCO, it is the first city of Asia won this award in the world. This is not only the affirmation of the achievements of the catering industry in Chengdu, but also opened wider space for the catering industry of Chengdu in the future development."Cate" has become a shining city card of Chengdu, and catering industry has become the pillar industry in Chengdu economic development. While the catering industry in Chengdu with such great opportunities, Study the catering industry of Chengdu and Its impact on the social economic development have positive significance.Although the domestic researches on catering industry in recent years continuously increase, there are not many articles that study about the impact of the catering industry on the social economic development. And most of the existing study about the impact of the catering industry on economic development are also just qualitative analysis or simple data analysis and index calculation, has few standard quantitative empirical researches. On the basis of previous research, this paper will try to use qualitative and quantitative analysis methods to research the contribution of the impact of the catering industry on the social economic development. In order to make clear the important position of the catering industry of Chengdu in the economic development.Specifically, this paper analyzes the development situation of the catering industry of Chengdu including its history and causes、characteristics、development present situation and problems. From four aspects such as the social output, three industry, social employment and social spending of Chengdu to described the contribution of the catering industry to the social economic development. Than through establishing econometric model to analyze the contribution of the catering industry to economy, and results show that catering industry driving economic growth of Chengdu in the short-term and long-term are obviously, confirmed that catering industry of Chengdu plays an important role in its economic development. Finally on the basis of the analysis of the development trends of catering industry in China, puts forward corresponding suggestions to the development of catering industry of Chengdu.
