The distribution of urban commercial network is a significant part of overall design and planning of the city. Since the reform and opening up to the outside world of China and propelled by the new free market system as well as the urbanization process, the commercial construction of Changsha has haved great change. The commercial infrastructure has been improving toward internalization and modernization. As the market economic developmented, some commercial network has achieved substantial scale and a new range of business and trade enterprise groups are mushrooming. Due to the promotion of fast development of commerce, the economic growth has been enhanced and social advancement has paced up.First, based on the explanations on the background and significance of the distribution of commercial network in Changsha and the current research status on it both at home and abroad, this paper full analyse the distribution of commercial network affected mechanism. Second, this paper briefly illustrates the business development and location distribution status in several aspects including social and economic status, business development, the distribution of business location at different levels, the scattering of business centers, etc. And probes into the problems existing in current commercial network in Changsha in aspects of spatial arrangement of business centers, quantity and structure, supporting facilities and the particular distribution in suburban areas. Meanwhile, by reference to the relevant theory about commercial network at home and abroad, it analyzes the influence to the distribution of commercial network in Changsha posed by population, urban economics, per capita income, consuming ability, structure and consumption behavior, transportation and land price, etc. And using quantitative analysis, further research finds that factors such as population, economics, consumption, transportation and land price will promote the expansion of business network in Changsha. Among those factors, transportation and population contribute most and thus become the priorities in distribution of commercial network in Changsha. Then the business demand and supply are predicted in the future twenty years in Changsha. The conclusion revealed that the business area in Changsha will reach4,697,900m2in2010and that number will increase to5,515,400and6,331,900respectively in2015and2020. Finally, the paper aiming at the problems existing in current commercial network in Changsha, it puts forward the following suggestions suitable for optimizing the distribution of the commercial network in Changsha with regional characteristics:we should enhance the overall planning of commercial network, shape and perfect the hierarchy of business centers and strengthen the construction of business streets, department stores and wholesale markets. Also, we should coordinate the business development with city growth and promote the expansion of the community business centers that facilitate people. Meanwhile, capital, policy and juridification have to be improved to support the commercial network.
