Strictly speaking, private banking refers to those banks which are owned by a group of partners who between them have unlimited liability. And private banking has been described as "the hottest and fastest growing banking sector". Nowadays, Chinese economy has had a great progress, and brings her people more and more wealth. They call for new financial tools to protect their fortune, but there are not so many choices waiting for them. Thus, private banking becomes the target that every commercial bank wants to have. Bases on this special condition, we investigated the characteristics of Xingye private banking, and we also analyzed the predicaments and count ermeasures.This paper includes six chapters. In Chapter Ⅰ, we explained why we chose this topic, and gave a brief literature about private banking. In Chapter Ⅱ, we introduced the concept and elements of private banking, and we also analyze the differences between private banking business and other financial services. At last, we traced back to the history of the development of private banking business from the international and the domestic aspects. In Chapter Ⅲ, we analysis the foundation of the application of private banking. In Chapter Ⅳ, we analyzed the private banking business of Xingye bank by SWTO tools. At first, we gave a short message about Xingye bank and its business. Secondly, we investigated its internal and external environment, pointing out its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges. Thirdly, we drew a summary about our results. In Chapter Ⅵ, we provided the countermeasures for the development of private banking in Xingye bank. We made a summary about our paper in the last part. Except for this, we also pointed our shortage and the direction we will go on.
