An Analysis Of And Countermeasures For The Farmers’ Income Of Huai’an City

The reform of rural areas has made great achievements in the past thirty years. However, with the rapid progress of Chinese modernization, the problem of farmers, especially the problem of increasing the farmers’ income has become strikingly obvious. The supply of agricultural has finally realized the historic transformation from achieving the balance of total amount to having abundant annual products after experiencing the long-term short of supply. With this great change, the agricultural development has become hampered by the double restriction of resources and markets. Therefore, new problems have come up that agricultural products are hard to sell, the prices go down and the farmers’ income increases slowly. How to solve the problem of the farmers’ slow increase of income has become the first priority among the rural issues of "agriculture, rural areas and farmers".As a developing region in the economically developed province, Huai’an is facing a great challenge. It has become a great and urgent task to solve the problem so as not to hinder the course of "the two first" in building the well-being society and realizing the four modernizations in Jiangsu Province. The problem of Huai’an farmers’ income is characterized both by the national universality and the particularity which is different from that of other regions. Thereby, it is necessary to make a careful study of the universal law from Huai’an farmers’ income growth, find out the right way and take the proper countermeasures that suit the situation of Huai’an district.This paper combines theoretical research with the practical analysis, which falls into three parts. The first part makes detailed analysis of Huai’an farmers’ income and its change trend. The second part analyzes the main factors that influence the farmers’ income. The final part proposes the approaches and countermeasures in view of Huai’an practical situation to increase the farmers’ income.
