Research On Rural Elderly Of Changde

China is a big agricultural country. Providing for the aged has a long history inrural areas. Throughout history till today, the main form of providing for the aged isfamily endowment in rural areas in china. As the problem of ageing、high speedtendency of small family and unclear family、vast transfer of rural labor force、Weakening in family moral principles concept are becoming more and more serious,providing for the aged turns to be increasingly prominent. At the same time, somepresent situations like decline of fertility rate、imitation of the land、 high pressure ofproviding the aged all challenged the mode of family endowment in the rural area. Inorder to solve the issue of letting the aged be provided、supported and have someoneto depend on and something to be happy with, we must raise a practical socialinsurance proposal as soon as possible and speed up the improvement of socialinsurance system in rural areas. This paper introduces the development and reform ofendowment system in rural areas from Qin Dynasty to this day. Also this paperinvestigates the present situation in providing for the aged in Changde city wherethe main social endowment form is family endowment and find out some problemsexisting in living、 economy、 livelihood and intellectual life by giving outQuestionnaires and making interviews. At last,this paper puts forward some solutionsin system、policy、law and ethic education according to the practical situations inChangde city by analysing reasons from ego factor、consort factor、children’ssupport、transfer of labor force、land system、culture of supporting the aged andusing some modes in providing for the aged in the developed countries and areas inthe west for reference,so as to solve the problems of providing for the aged which arearoused by aging and family changes and also to affirm the responsibility ofgovernment to set new rules and regulations on providing the aged in rural areas.
