Action logic is thinking logicality that decision makers deal with uncertain issues. This study aims to explore the relationship between the action logic of decision makers and enterprise performance in different enterprises development stages, providing important theoretical basis and practical significance for business management in our country.Through literature review and case analysis, this study proposes the theoretical model comprising action logic, organization identity, corporate life cycle and enterprise performance. First of all, we searched and analyzed literature about action logic, causation, effectuation, organization identity, corporate life cycle, enterprise performance. Next, we analyzed the two cases——the first case is about Iridium Company and mobile operators, which confirmed preliminarily enterprise in the newly established period with high uncertainty can promote more enterprise performance in rational behavior of effectuation; the other is about the management change of Saxe real estate company, which confirmed preliminarily that enterprises in the mature stage will enhance enterprise performance in rational behavior of causation. Finally, based on literature analysis and case study, we put forward to research hypotheses in this study.Then, we make a large sample test for confirmation of the proposed hypotheses. Firstly, based on scales constructed in this study, we conduct a random sampling survey in Changsha, Guangzhou, Shanghai and other places, and get224valid samples. And we make use of SPSS16.0to do reliability analysis, the exploratory factor analysis for sample data, which examine the reliability and validity of scale, and make use of AMOS7.0to do confirmatory factor analysis for the scale’s factor structure. Finally, we discuss mediating effect and boundary conditions in the mechanism. And we make correlation and regression analyses with SPSS16.0to examine mediating effect of organization identity; and make hierarchical regression analyses to examine moderating effect of corporate life cycle.We examine the relationship between action logic and enterprise performance through the empirical study, and at the same time, what’s role the organization identity and enterprise life cycle plays in the mechanism is discussed. It turns out that organization identity plays mediating effect in the relationship between action logic and enterprise performance; while enterprise life cycle plays mediating effect. The research results provided us with two kinds of revelation:first, the enterprise decision makers should timely choose effective action logic, especially in the newly established period, the effectuation rationality will be more effective. Second, as enterprises expand gradually, enterprise management change is derived. And introducing in professional managers as an important way of enterprise changing from entrepreneur management to professional management, is also fast an effective way for fast developing enterprises to break through the management bottleneck and receive sustaining growth. This provides an important enlightenment for many large big family firms with a mode of "dominance by one man" in our country.
