Measurement And Evaluation Of The Knowledge Competitiveness Of China’s Central And Western Regions

2012, China’s government work report said that we should increase efforts to support the development of the central and western regions, facilitating the flow of economic factors, and promote the regional economy, positive interaction and coordinated development of China’s economy. Also proposed that China should vigorously promote technological innovation, speed up the national innovation system, enterprises have become the main body of independent innovation, enhance regional knowledge innovation capability.Our government pays more and more attention to the development of regional knowledge competitiveness, coordinated regional development, innovation development to the level of national strategy. This paper will analyze the theoretical framework of the existing knowledge competitiveness, especially on the basis of the project of "China’s regional knowledge competitiveness", expand the Measurement and Evaluation of central and western knowledge competitiveness and to fill the blank that our knowledge competition force biased towards developed areasFirstly, we analysis the leading edge results of the knowledge competitiveness, introduces the conceptual framework of knowledge competitiveness, the key elements of the knowledge competitiveness. Second, base on the existing achievements, we combined with the actual situation of the knowledge competitiveness of China’s central and western regions to construct knowledge competitiveness for China’s central and western regions of the elements and evaluation system. Finally, we use the system to the knowledge competitiveness of the central and western regions, and make recommendations how to improve the knowledge competitiveness of China’s central and western regions.In particular, the paper breaks the traditional methods of the past, a similar measurement on the administrative region for the measure. It’s the first time that measure the knowledge competitiveness of China’s central and western regions according to China eight economic zone.This way is more suitable for the Measurement and Evaluation of the knowledge competitiveness of China’s central and western regions.
