Because of the arrival of the knowledge economy age, the development and operation of enterprises no longer depend primarily on traditional resources, such as capital, natural resources, and labor. Knowledge has become the most active and the most important part among the production factors. Many enterprises constantly improve the knowledge content of their products and provide their customers with more services which are based on knowledge. Knowledge service enterprises develop rapidly, just like bamboo shoots after a spring rain. While with the acceleration of global economic integration process and the development and popularization of information network technology, different types of enterprises are facing the increasingly fierce international competition. So as new industry, knowledge service enterprises must know how to improve their competitiveness and how to obtain competitive advantages in the fierce international competition. And this has been widely concerned by the academic and business circles. Therefore, the research on the competitiveness of knowledge service enterprises is of great theoretical and practical significance.The research on the competitiveness of knowledge service enterprises is brand new and very few research results can be found. Unified cognition has not been formed and there is short of systematic and in-depth research on the competitiveness of knowledge service enterprises. In view of the above analysis, this dissertation makes a comparatively systematic research on the competitiveness of knowledge service enterprises. The overall research framework is:"clear the basic concept--identify the key elements--analyze the interrelationship among the factors--evaluate the competitiveness--give promotion strategy"The main research of this thesis is as follows:(1) The definition of the competitiveness of knowledge service enterprises. In this dissertation, the characteristics of knowledge service enterprises are analyzed from the point of knowledge management and the point of service science. And then, based on the research of enterprises’competitiveness, the concept of the competitiveness of knowledge service enterprise is put forward. The definition of knowledge service enterprises is defined as follows:in the competitive knowledge service market, a knowledge service enterprise can respond quickly to the demand of the market, continuously and effectively provide knowledge products and knowledge services for the market, achieve high market share and customer satisfaction, and finally gain profitability and development. The definition of the competitiveness of knowledge service enterprises provides the foundation for the relative theory research and it can clearly guide the knowledge service enterprises how to practice their competitiveness.(2) The identification of the key elements of competitiveness of knowledge service enterprises. Firstly, by analyzing the existing literature, the impact elements of competitiveness of knowledge services enterprises are determined. Then, using the expert investigation method and the statistical analysis, the key elements of competitiveness of knowledge service enterprises are identified.(3) The analysis of the interrelationship among the dimensions/key elements of competitiveness of knowledge service enterprises and the determination of the weights. Firstly, based on the experts’subjective judgment, the direct impact matrix of the dimensions/key elements are constructed. Then, the centrality degree and cause degree are obtained by using DEMATEL methods, and the interrelationship among the dimensions/key elements can be identified. Further, an approach to determining the weights of dimensions/key elements is proposed.(4) The evaluation method of the competitiveness of knowledge service enterprises. A fuzzy multi-attribute evaluation method is proposed to evaluate the competitiveness of knowledge services enterprises,. Firstly, the evaluation data in the form of crisp number are normalized, and those in the form of linguistic terms are transformed into the form of triangular fuzzy numbers. Then, according to the algorithm of triangular fuzzy numbers, dimension evaluation results of knowledge service enterprises which are in the form of triangular fuzzy numbers are obtained. Finally, through the distance between the dimension evaluation results in the form of triangular fuzzy numbers and the elements of language evaluation information set, the dimension evaluation results of knowledge service enterprises are obtained which are in the form of language terms. Further, the comprehensive result of the competitiveness of knowledge service enterprises is determined by aggregated the evaluation results of all dimensions.(5) The promotion strategies of the competitiveness of knowledge service enterprises. Based on the evaluation result of the competitiveness of knowledge service enterprises, and the dimension of elements that influenced the competitiveness of knowledge service enterprises, the promotion strategies of the competitiveness of knowledge service enterprises are proposed and a systemic plan for the promotion of the competitiveness of knowledge service enterprises are provided.
