In recent years, chain retailing enterprise has become the main part of China’s retail market ahead of others, because of its characteristics of large-scale, unity, copy and centralized management. However, as the rapid development of chain retailing, the competition among enterprises becomes increasingly fierce, and it is essentially a competition among talent. In order to maintain a competitive advantage, it is necessary to maximize the potential of employees for chain retailing enterprises, and establish an effective performance motivation model. The application of effective performance motivation model can not only to improve the performance of individual employees, thus improving business performance, but also help to attract, use and retain talent for chain retailing enterprise.Referring to the previous study of performance motivation and combining with the performance motivation situation of employees of the chain retailing enterprises, this paper establishes and applies an Performance Motivation Model (PMM) of employees for these enterprises from the view of individual performance. First of all, this paper analyses the characteristics of the chain retailing enterprises, we find that its performance motivation is internal copied, continuously updated, flexible and efficient. But it also has disadvantages, such as low culture cultivation, motivate misunderstanding and inadequate training system. Then, considering the characteristics of chain retailing enterprise and performance motivation, the PMM of employees for chain retailing enterprises is based on the existing related theory. The PMM of the employees for chain retailing enterprise has a clear motivation line, including two chains of performance generation and results using, with a lot of motive elements. Applying the PMM, the employee performance will be improved, and the chain retailing enterprise will be a dynamic, efficient and coordinate organization, thus contributing to the further development of the enterprise and its internal members.
