After the1960s, thanks to global industrial structural adjustment and the rapid development of the world economy, international trade in services rises rapidly. International trade in services has become the most dynamic part of international trade, and an important characteristic of world economy and international trade development. The competitiveness of trade in services has been taken as a powerful measure of one country’s international competitiveness.Since1970s, Hong Kong and Singapore have conformed to the needs of the development of times, making full use of their own advantages of factor endowments energetically to develop trade in services, obtaining outstanding achievements on trade in services.Even more, both of them became members of "Asian dragons". Hong Kong and Singapore have plenty of factor endowments in common, but they are different from each other in the development road and competitiveness of trade in services.Firstly, this paper expounds the general situation of trade in services between Hong Kong and Singapore, especially the comparative analysis of import, export, net export structure.Secondly, this paper selects the MS index, RCA index, and TC index to discuss the static analysis and dynamic analysis of the whole industry and the sectors of trade in services between Hong Kong and Singapore, to locate the advantage and disadvantage industries of trade in services between Hong Kong and Singapore, on this basis, we can make sure whether the relevant industries are complementary or competitive.Finally, this paper concludes the establishment experiences of trade in services between Hong Kong and Singapore, evaluating the competitiveness of China’s trade in services, offering proposals to improve the competitiveness of China’s trade in services.
