The purpose of lean production is to distribute and use enterprise resourcesystematically and reasonably, reduce all waste during the production process, andcontinuously improve the production system. The lean production is accompanied byleveling production pulled by Kanban. In order to implements the leveling productionwith kanban, manufacturers need to improve in-plant logistics during production, andincrease the logistics efficiency by using milkrun.The paper compare the controlling principles and controlling method inproduction system, and confirm that leveling Kanban pull system is a suitable way forsmall quantity and variety production model. The paper researches the characteristicand the implementation way of leveling production. And the paper also researches themethod to calculate Kanban, analyses the factors that could influence the number ofKanban. The paper divides Kanban calculation method into4parts according todifferent factors: replenishment time, lot size, customers’ withdrawal and safety stock.By introducing replenishment time and Kanban flow supports Kanban calculationmethod.The paper researches the material flow-oriented plant layout method andimplementation method of milkrun. Material flow-oriented plant layout methodunifies the direction of logistics in different production lines, and make sure thedirection is same as incoming logistics (material supermarket) to outgoing logistics(finished goods supermarket). The new method of plant layout could support theimplementation of milkrun in plant.
